Break some bread for all my sins
Jan. 28th, 2017 03:58 amIt took a part of the weekend, but Percival managed to get the office cleaned out and turned into a proper bedroom. His desk had been moved to a corner of the living room, his files reorganized there. That way he had no reason to go in and out of Credence's room - he thought it was important for him to have a space that was just his own.
The better part of a day had been spent getting Credence a proper wand. It took time and Percival was not about to rush something so important; in the end, he thought the wand perfected suited to the boy.
Their final outing over the course of a couple days was to get Credence clothes to fill his new wardrobe. And he was-- Percival swore he must be mistaken, but Credence seemed coy throughout the entire endeavor. It was getting later by the time they finished; Percival got them dinner out before they returned to the apartment for the evening. He left Credence to put away his things and spent some time reviewing the cases that had been suspended while he'd been missing. He turned in with a quiet goodnight, but even after laying in bed he couldn't bring himself to fall asleep.
Not after what had happened the other night. And the time before that. Each instance played over and over again in his head until he found himself slipping from bed, just-- just to test a theory. He opened his door quietly and went out into the living room, quiet. He glanced to see if Credence had left his door open.
Again.
